We started as a small local convenience store in Phoenix, where people popped in for bread, milk, and a friendly chat. And it wasn’t long before something sweeter began to take shape. Customers started asking for cakes, pies, and small bakes to take home, and Westham On-the-Go slowly became something bigger: Westham Bakery.
Today, our name is known across Durban for our fresh cream cakes, fudgy brownies, flaky pies, sweetmeats, and slices that turn ordinary days into little celebrations. Even as we’ve grown, our recipe for success has stayed the same: keep it fresh, keep it local, and always bake with love.

Galleria – A fresh start in Amanzimtoti
July brought one of our biggest milestones yet with the opening of our brand-new store at Galleria Mall (Shop F56, Cnr Moss Kolnik & Arbour Rd, Umbogintwini). On opening day, the queue stretched almost to the other end of the mall — a moment we’ll never forget and a reminder of how much love our community brings wherever we go.
And there’s more to come! Our Galleria store will soon introduce Westham Bakery’s first-ever coffee offering, complete with an in-house barista. Imagine this: the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the smell of warm pastries and the sweetness of cream-topped cakes. Whether you’re a loyal regular or discovering us for the first time in Amanzimtoti, this store is set to become your new go-to stop for comfort, coffee, and connection.
Overport – The long-awaited store finally opens
October marked another exciting chapter with the opening of our Overport store at 588 Randles Road, a launch our customers have been asking about for years. The wait was worth it! Our Overport branch is now open 24/7, joining Phoenix and Newlands as one of our round-the-clock Westham Bakery stores.
This new space has a charm all its own. Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by our signature cherry blossom tree, a symbol of growth, beauty, and the everyday moments worth celebrating. Whether you’re stopping by for a midnight milk tart, a fresh loaf before sunrise, or a slice of Ferrero cake after work, the doors are always open, the counters full, and the welcome warm.
